Describe the technical skills you have gained?
The technical skills I have gained are that I can now do basic stuff on photoshop, you can see this by comparing my TV listings magazine cover and my final product magazine cover. I am now able to use bevels, change the colour of stuff I want to change in the picture and make a picture look more sinister or more happy by changing the contrast of the photo.
Describe two challenges you have overcome?
The two challenges I have over come are firstly, the photographs I took. To take these photographs I had to organize a time and place which was suitable for my models, I also had to get their permission to put make up and fake blood on them which could stain. I had to make the pictures perfect for my magazine cover so I chose a time where it would be slightly dark but not too dark, I also chose a place which looked quite gloomy and scary to be in.
My other challenge was finding the right font for my magazine cover, to do this I searched fonts on my home computer the website I got my fonts from was called www.dafont.com, I downloaded the fonts I found on this website and put them on my memory stick to use in the school computers.

Do you feel that your product is suitable for target audience?
I do feel that my product is suitable for my target audience because I based my magazine cover on other magazines like Kerrang and Metal Hammer which are magazines what my target audience read or would read. I made my magazine cover dark and slightly sinister like those magazine covers so that mine would catch their eye if they was looking for a magazine like that in a shop.
How has technology (computer, digital camera, printer) helped you turn your design into a real product?
Technology has helped me with my product because, I used a digital camera to take the pictures for my magazine cover and I used a computer to view my pictures on. I used photoshop on the computer to turn my design into a real product which helped me a lot.
Without the digital camera and computer I would not of been able to turn my design into a real product.

How does your finished product compare to your design?
My finished product is slightly different to my design, but there are no big differences. In my design, I put a banner on the magazine cover, where-as in my finished product there is no banner. In my finished product, I have added more pictures going across the magazine cover promoting new festivals coming up this year which is not in my design. My finished product has the main feature covering the whole of the magazine cover like in my design, also there are pictures at the bottom of my finished magazine cover like my design.
Overall there are not drastic changes in my finished product which compare to my design.

What permissions are needed to use a celebrity photograph?
Every photograph taken of a celebrity or a model is copyright. To use a photograph of a celebrity or model you have to have permissions from either the celebrity or model them-self, their manager or the photographer. You may even need permission from all three. You would usually need to pay these people to use their photograph as-well. If you use the photograph without permission you could face being sued for a lot of money. You can sometimes use photographs without permission if the photographs are creative commons. This means that the photograph has no copyright, therefore you would not need to go through the hassle of trying to get permission.

What people are good my my media target audience.
This is Lewin and Jordan Cornwall, they are both brothers. Lewin is 17 and Jordan is 21, they live in Cheshunt with their mum, dad and little brother Tayler. Their both in to the same music - heavy metal, rock, death metal ect. They both love piercings and tattoos, as you can see Lewin has stretched ear lobes and his brother is just starting to stretch his. They wear a lot of red and black and like to go to Camden Town in london for their clothes. I think my magazine cover would appeal to these two brothers because the magazine would be showing pictures of bands they like and the music they like.
