The role of the Advertising Standards Authority is to ensure that customers don't just enjoy the advert they are watching or looking at, but to also trust the advert they are watching or looking at.
The ASA choose which advert is acceptable to show to civilains of the UK and to choose which advets are unaccecptable to show to the nation. They choose adverts that are acceptable to show, honest, deacent and truthful. Their work includes acting on and investigating complaints as well as proactively monitoring and taking action against misleading, harmful or offensive advertisements, sales promotions and direct marketing.
